Processing sector emerged as the top taxpayer to Ukraine’s consolidated budget in the first half of 2026.
This information comes from the State Tax Service.
According to the agency, companies in this sector contributed 17.6% of all tax revenues, signifying approximately one in every five hryvnias paid to the budget.
Other major contributors include wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (15.9%), public administration and defense along with social security (12%), and financial and insurance activities (11.5%).
The processing industry also showed the most significant increase in tax revenues compared to the first half of 2025, rising by UAH 33.5 billion, or 19.1%.
Additionally, businesses in public administration and defense increased their tax payments by UAH 21.3 billion (+17.5%), wholesale and retail trade by UAH 18.6 billion (+10.9%), and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply by UAH 18.3 billion (+28.5%).
