Агропідприємство на Харківщині збільшило земельний банк удвічі, незважаючи на бойові дії.

«Павлівське плюс» LLC has nearly doubled its cultivated areas in the Balakliya community of Kharkiv region this year.

The company’s land bank has expanded from approximately 700 to 1400 hectares, as stated by the director of «Pavlivske plus» LLC, Oleksiy Pavlov, to the publication «Slobidsky Krai».

«This year, STOV «Protopopivske» has leased its lands to us, as they are no longer able to cultivate them independently due to the losses and destruction they suffered in 2022 during active hostilities in the village of Protopopivka,» explained the head of the company.

Currently, the farm cultivates winter wheat, barley, oats, peas, sunflowers, corn, and sorghum. According to Oleksiy Pavlov, the crop structure is determined not only by market conditions but also by the necessity of crop rotation. He notes that the common belief that sunflowers deplete the soil the most is outdated.

«Modern agronomic research indicates that the crop not only utilizes nutrients but also helps mobilize them from deeper soil layers, after which they partially return to the upper layer along with plant residues,» observes Oleksiy Pavlov.

Despite the challenging economic situation, the enterprise continues to update its machinery and tractor fleet. The farm recently acquired a new tractor and an applicator for liquid fertilizers.

Harvesting of early grains will commence at the farm in the near future. No yield forecasts are being made at this time.

«It’s difficult to say anything concrete before we start collecting. As they say, the bunker will tell. But we hope the harvest will be better than last year,» says the director.

The farm sells the majority of its produce in the domestic market of Ukraine. Simultaneously, the enterprise has found buyers abroad for its sorghum.

«We sell sorghum to Poland. There is practically no such market in Ukraine, so we are exporting,» says Oleksiy Pavlov.

Despite all the difficulties, the enterprise not only continues to operate but is also considering the possibility of further expanding its land holdings.
